Meaningful Connections at LPS

Student Life at LPS

Connection is More Than a Value—it’s a Way of Life.

At Lowcountry Prep, we believe that learning flourishes in the context of strong relationships. Across grade levels and throughout the school year, students are immersed in opportunities to form meaningful connections—with one another, with their community, and with the wider world.
On campus, our Fin Friends program is a cherished tradition that pairs Middle and Upper School students with Lower School students in big buddy/little buddy relationships. These partnerships are thoughtfully maintained throughout the school year, with monthly activities designed to foster mentorship, friendship, and school spirit.

Whether it’s reading together, sharing lunch, or collaborating on a craft, Fin Friends creates bonds that leave a lasting impression on both big and little buddies.

One of the key moments where our entire school gathers in unity is during our monthly chapel assemblies. Led by students and open to the entire campus, chapel services include music, scripture readings, prayer, and inspiring messages from guest speakers in our local community. These gatherings strengthen our shared faith, reinforce our core values, and offer a reflective space for gratitude, encouragement, and purpose.

Beyond Our Campus

Beyond our campus, LPS students actively engage in community service through partnerships with local nonprofits. From assisting at animal rescues and food banks to supporting local schools and maintaining nearby state parks, our students learn the importance of giving back while developing a deeper connection to the world around them.

Our commitment to connection also extends globally. Through international travel opportunities, students and families are invited to explore diverse cultures alongside faculty guides. These trips—recently including destinations like France, Greece, Italy, and Japan—are rich, multi-week experiences that expand worldviews and build lasting memories. Typically offered during spring or summer break, they reflect our belief that education is as much about perspective as it is about place.

At LPS, connection is more than a value—it’s a way of life.
The mission of Lowcountry Preparatory School is to empower students to achieve their full potential by growing in faith and character to lead with integrity and serve with compassion.
