Connection is More Than a Value—it’s a Way of Life.
At Lowcountry Prep, student life is intentionally designed to build character, connection, and belonging. Each month, our school focuses on an Anchor Word connected to our Portrait of a Graduate, creating a shared theme that is woven throughout campus life.
That word comes to life through Monday Morning Marlin Meetings in Upper School, monthly Fin Friend activities, schoolwide Chapel, and Marlin of the Month recognition. Alongside clubs, athletics, the arts, service, leadership, and school traditions, these shared experiences help students grow into the kind of people we hope they will become.
At Lowcountry, who students become matters just as much as what they learn.
At Lowcountry Prep, there is a place for every Marlin to get involved. From STEM, art, music, and Spanish to fishing, chess, debate, student government, faith-based groups, and more, our clubs give students opportunities to explore their interests beyond the classroom. Beginning in Lower School and expanding through Upper School, students are encouraged to discover new passions, build friendships, develop leadership skills, serve others, and simply have fun. With a wide variety of opportunities designed around the interests of our students and led by faculty who know them well, clubs are another way every student can find their place at LPS.
Beyond Our Campus
Beyond our campus, LPS students actively engage in community service through partnerships with local nonprofits. From assisting at animal rescues and food banks to supporting local schools and maintaining nearby state parks, our students learn the importance of giving back while developing a deeper connection to the world around them.
Our commitment to connection also extends globally. Through international travel opportunities, students and families are invited to explore diverse cultures alongside faculty guides. These trips—recently including destinations like France, Greece, Italy, and Japan—are rich, multi-week experiences that expand worldviews and build lasting memories. Typically offered during spring or summer break, they reflect our belief that education is as much about perspective as it is about place.
