Why Lowcountry Prep?

Small School. Big Opportunity.

At Lowcountry Preparatory School, we believe a small school can offer the biggest advantages. As an independent PK–12 school in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, we provide a safe, supportive environment where students are truly known and deeply encouraged to grow—academically, socially, and spiritually.

We offer a rigorous college-preparatory program with a STEM-certified curriculum, enriching arts and athletic experiences, and a strong commitment to personal growth. Character education is intentionally integrated into every grade level, helping students grow into aware and confident individuals who lead with integrity and serve with compassion.

While we are not affiliated with any particular church, our community is grounded in faith. We trust in the strength of our shared values to guide students through life’s challenges with perseverance, compassion, and respect.

At Lowcountry Prep, excellence isn’t just measured by test scores—it’s reflected in the kind of people our students become.

Who you are is just as important as what you know.

We believe that academic success and personal development go hand in hand—and that how you treat others, how you show up, and how you lead are just as important as what you know.
Our school experience is organized into three divisions:
  • Lower School (Pre-K through 5th Grade)
  • Middle School (6th through 8th Grade)
  • Upper School (9th through 12th Grade)
Across every division, students are challenged to grow in knowledge and develop in character as we prioritize both the head and the heart. Our curriculum builds intentionally from year to year, equipping students with a comprehensive academic foundation and life skills they need to thrive. Just as importantly, we teach students to reflect on who they are becoming—encouraging empathy, resilience, responsibility, and purpose at every stage.

The values we strive to instill are captured in our Portrait of a Graduate —a reflection of the traits we believe matter most:
Lifelong Learning, Service, Leadership, Self-Awareness, and Character.

These aren’t just words on a page—they’re the guiding principles behind our teaching, mentoring, and community culture.

Marlins Make Waves

Every Lowcountry Prep graduate moves on to college—and they don’t stop there.

Our students leave our campus equipped not only with academic readiness, but with the mindset and character to lead, serve, and make a meaningful difference in the world around them.

From classrooms to communities, Marlins make waves that matter.
The mission of Lowcountry Preparatory School is to empower students to achieve their full potential by growing in faith and character to lead with integrity and serve with compassion.
